Ambrose left the wrestling giants in April after his contract expired and refused to sign a new deal citing creative differences and joined rival promotion AEW where he performs under his old hardcore gimmick of Jon Moxley.

Moxley made his first appearance for the newly-formed company in its inaugural show Double or Nothing where he destroyed Chris Jericho as well as Kenny Omega and seems set to become a major player for the promotion in the next few years.

However, Rollins is confident that The Lunatic Fringe will be back in WWE one day and will link up with him once more to reform the legendary Shield stable with Roman Reigns.

The Beastslayer, Ambrose and Reigns joined the WWE main roster on the same night in 2012 as The Shield and wrecked havoc on RAW and SmackDown for two whole years as they took out the likes of John Cena, The Rock, The Undertaker and many more.

The ex-WWE Champion bid farewell to Rollins with a big hug and hinted at a probable reunion one day as told him ‘it’s not goodbye’.

The Universal Champion is confident the WWE Universe hasn’t seen the last of them two together as the bond they share is too strong.

However, The Kingslayer has no idea when that will happen.

Rollins told WrestlingAC: “He gave me a big hug and he said, ‘I love you brother and it’s not goodbye. So ‘I’ll see you some time.’

“We’re always going to be bonded, I wish him the best and you haven’t seen the last of us together I’m sure at some point down the road we’ll be putting the fists together some time.

“I can’t say when and I can’t say for sure, but there’s this feeling in my gut that we’re going to be bonded brothers forever.

“Who knows [about a Shield reunion], but never say never…

“I have a feeling in my gut that we haven’t seen the last of myself and Dean Ambrose.”

The Shield fought together for the last time ever last April in a non-televised show The Shield’s Final Chapter.

Rollins, Ambrose and Reigns defeated Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.
