King Richard follows the life of the Williams’ father, Richard, who guided the two through their early days as professional athletes.
Development on the project was initially announced in 2019, when Smith signed on to star in the feature.
Filming commenced in early 2020 and concluded later that year following a brief hiatus that was forced on the production by the onset of the global pandemic.
The biographical drama film is set to be released in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming service on November 19th.
