TOTTENHAM have taken plenty of youngsters on their tour of Asia in the hope of finding some new gems.
Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters have been among those to come through the academy in recent years – with a number of talents attracting Mauricio Pochettino’s attention.
Who is Japhet Tanganga?
The Hackney-born defender has been at Tottenham since he was ten years old, formerly turning out for Greig City Academy.
Tanganga has made a significant rise through the youth ranks, even making his debut in pre-season 12 months against Girona.
The centre-back is also revered on the international stage, helping the England under-20s to win the Toulon Tournament in 2017.

Tanganga was born on March 31, 1999 – making him 20 years old.
Despite his young age, he is being reported as potential back-up option to add depth to Spurs’ side should star defender Toby Alderweireld depart this summer.
He would certainly be a good and cheap addition to the squad, becoming known for his height and aerial ability.
Is he starting against Juventus in pre-season?
While many Tottenham fans were hoping for new signing Tanguy Ndombele to start against the Italian giants, Tanganga was among a number of youths to get their shot.
He partners Alderweireld in the heart of defence, with fellow academy stars Walker-Peters and Anthony Georgiou in the full-back positions.
Oliver Skipp and Troy Parrott are also getting a run out in the senior side.
