Tahlia Giumelli, the model fiancée of rugby league player Tom Burgess, has spoken out after fellow footy WAG Nadia Bartel was fined for breaching public health orders.

Tahlia, 28, said she was ‘saddened’ to learn Nadia, 36, and three other women had attended an illegal gathering during Melbourne’s Covid lockdown on Thursday.

She was asked for her thoughts on the scandal during an Instagram Q&A on Monday, and said she was more disappointed by the lockdown breach than the fact Nadia had been filmed snorting a line of white powder, believed to be cocaine, at the party.

Tahlia said she was reluctant to ‘publicly bash someone’ and ‘doesn’t care what recreational activities people get up to’ – referring to the alleged drug use – but made it clear she was upset Nadia had ignored public health orders during the pandemic.

‘As an influencer – what are your thoughts on what Nadia Bartel did last Thursday?’ one fan asked Tahlia.

Choosing her words carefully, she responded: ‘This is hard to answer, because I don’t want [to] publicly bash someone.’

‘I personally don’t care what recreational activities people get up to but I feel saddened that people think it’s okay to break public health orders at this time.

‘Everyone is struggling and sacrificing. Our healthcare workers are working their butts off especially in VIC and NSW,’ she added, before telling her followers to talk their doctor about getting vaccinated if they haven’t already.

Nadia’s world came crashing down on Friday after footage went viral of her snorting white powder, believed to be cocaine, off a $1.50 Kmart plate at an illegal gathering in Melbourne the night before.

Victorians living under lockdown are prohibited from holding private gatherings.

Nadia issued a public apology that afternoon, 24 hours after the video was accidently uploaded to Instagram by her friend Ellie Pearson.

‘Hi everyone, I have let you all down by my actions. I take full responsibility and I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure I make better choices in future,’ she wrote.

‘To my family and friends, my business partners and the public health workers trying to keep us all safe, I am embarrassed and remorseful.

‘I am truly and deeply sorry. I hope I can earn your forgiveness and, in time, your trust.’

Nadia’s apology – which included an appeal for forgiveness from health workers – confirmed the gathering was held on Thursday evening.

Daily Mail Australia understands the video was posted to Instagram by Ellie entirely by mistake, but that another member of Nadia’s social group quickly downloaded it and sent the damning footage to media outlets in an attempt to ‘destroy’ the WAG.

‘The cocaine video was deliberately leaked by someone within Nadia’s elite Melbourne social circle,’ a source said.

Nadia and three other women have been issued with Penalty Infringement Notices following the illegal gathering on Thursday.

Each woman has been fined $5,452, but a fifth woman was not charged because she was ‘complying with employment restrictions’, Victoria Police said on Monday.

Police are also investigating possible drug offences after Nadia was recorded at the party snorting white powder, believed to be cocaine.
