She wore her luxurious hair down and added a touch of glitz to her look with hoop earrings as she shot an enigmatic stare off into the distance.
At the start of this month Vanessa sang The Star-Spangled Banner at the PBS Independence Day special A Capitol Fourth held on the Capitol building’s west lawn.
She also controversially performed Lift Every Voice And Sing, which has historically been known as the Black National Anthem.
The move drew some critics who regarded it as divisive to sing an anthem for one ethnic group on a holiday about the country at large.

During an interview with Entertainment Studios last month promoting the special she said that the event was ‘about unity.’
Vanessa continued: ‘It’s about this amazing country that is based on democracy and realizing that we left the British to be free, but our government works because we have all those things in place.’
She added: ‘So it’s celebrating the liberty and the structure that we started as Americans which also includes all different colors that helped build this country.’
As far as her personal life goes Vanessa is currently on her third husband and is the proud mother of four children including Lion Babe singer Jillian Hervey.

She noted that ‘a lot of people had plenty of time to read it to their kids, which was wonderful’ last year and has revealed that the idea started out as a musical one.
‘It was a song, then I said: “I’m gonna do a children’s album,” and never got to it, and I finally had the time to actually turn it into a children’s book with an accompanying CD – and if you don’t have a CD player you can actually go and download it on all the streaming channels,’ she noted to Entertainment Studios.
