The warning covers most of central England but reaches as far as south as London as well as Hull in the North. It lasts from 6am on Tuesday to midnight. The Met Office has stated that there is a chance of flooding in areas covered by the yellow warning and it could cause damage to homes and buildings.
They also warned bus and train journeys may be affected and that journey times may take longer, with chances of some services being cancelled.
Powercuts may also occur across affected areas, although this is less likely.
The Met Office has also warned that there is a chance that some communities may become cut off by flooded roads.
Weather agency MeteoGroup UK said in its forecast: “Tuesday will be a dull and damp day across England and Wales with outbreaks of rain which will slowly clear from the west during the day.

“Elsewhere will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers.
“Cloud cover will break during the day with brighter and sunny spells developing in the north and west.
“Rain will continue across northern and eastern England during the evening and will be locally heavy for coastal areas.
“Overnight will continue to slowly clear from the west to leave most areas dry with clear spells and patches of mist and fog will form. Rain will linger across the north-east by dawn.
The Met Office has issued a guide offering advice and guidance for protecting yourself and your home during a flood.
This includes signing up for free flood warnings and preparing a flood plan.
They advise downloading a flood template from a local flood agency or making your own using their guide which includes writing down a list of useful contact numbers and how to shut off your gas and electricity supply.
They also advise preparing a flood kit including items such as torches and blankets and installing flood protection equipment such as sandbags into your home.
