According to the latest Government figures, the UK has recorded 28,773 new cases of the virus, marking the highest rise since late March. This comes just a day after Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the July 19 ‘Freedom Day’ will go ahead in England.
The UK death toll has also increased by 37 in the last 24 hours.
