Thomas Markle’s strained relationship with his daughter Meghan Markle is likely to have worsened following his exclusive interview with 60 Minutes Australia that aired on Sunday, June 13. Royal experts say he has “shot himself in the foot again” by speaking publicly about the family rift and criticising Meghan and her husband Prince Harry.
When asked if she thought there could ever be a reconciliation between the father and daughter, Royally Us host Molly Mulshine said: “I don’t think so, he went to the press again.
“It’s like Thomas, you have one job, your one job was to not go to the press, that was all he ever had to do and he just keeps doing it.
“He’s shot himself in the foot again by doing this.”
During the interview, Thomas Markle called his daughter “cold” and revealed he was yet to meet his grandchildren, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana.

Co-host Joe Drake said, “He only has one job and that’s not to go to the press. Everything else is manageable from that point but if you keep doing these interviews, Megan will not answer your phone calls, nor will Harry.”
“They’ve never even met so there’s nothing there to even build off of.”
Thomas Markle has had a strained relationship with his daughter since the months leading up to the couple’s wedding in May 2018.
It was revealed that the former lighting director had liaised with paparazzi to stage photographs, which he believed would improve his image. These included pictures of him at a tuxedo-fitting and researching the history of Britain in an internet cafe.
In her tell-all interview with Oprah, Meghan Markle touched upon her father’s “betrayal” and said that she couldn’t “imagine doing anything to hurt my child. I can’t reconcile that.”
During his latest conversation with 60 Minutes Australia, Thomas Markle revealed he had not spoken to his daughter in over 3 years.
He said he had “apologised a hundred times over” and said he did not believe he was to blame for the rift.
Along with her father, Meghan Markle also has an estranged relationship with her half-brother and half-sister, Thomas Markle Jnr and Samantha Markle.
Neither sibling was invited to the royal wedding.
