Meghan Markle’s older brother Thomas Markle Jr has been labelled a ‘Very Ignorant Person’ by a royal commentator, after he announced his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother VIP Australia. In a trailer released for the upcoming show, the window-fitter called his estranged sister “shallow”, despite having no relationship with the Duchess of Sussex in over a decade and never meeting Prince Harry.

In a conversation on the podcast Royally Obsessed, host Molly Mulshine said: “I just want to know what VIP stands for – it is ‘Very Ignorant Person’ or ‘Very Important Pain in Meghan’s butt’?

“How is this person a VIP? I’m sorry, I barely knew he existed.

“I just can’t believe this is what we’re doing in Australia.”

Co-host and fellow royal commentator Joe Drake said: “He calls Meghan shallow in the trailer and I’m assuming on the show he’s going to be talking a lot more smack about Harry and Meghan.”

Ms Mulshine responded: “First of all, it’s very easy to call a woman in the public eye shallow and I will just discount it everytime someone says it because I’m like what do you mean?

“They care about their appearance? If she didn’t care about her experience, everyone would say she looked like crap.

“He’s definitely going to be talking smack because it’s the only reason anyone cares about him.”

This is not the first time Thomas Markle Jr has spoken negatively about Meghan Markle, as the Duchess has a strained relationship with her father’s side of the family.

Samantha Markle has also conducted several interviews where she has attacked Meghan, and has published an autobiography titled ‘The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister’.

The Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, has been strained since the weeks leading to the royal wedding, when it emerged that he had collaborated with the paparazzi for staged photographs.

Since then, he has given several high-profile interviews where he has criticised Prince Harry and Meghan, accusing them of “cheapening the monarchy”.

He told 60 Minutes Australia that he had “apologised over a hundred times” but had received “no compassion” from the couple.

In his most recent interviews with Fox News and GB News, he has claimed that he is taking legal action to request visitation rights to see his grandchildren, Archie Harrison, and Lilibet Diana.
