‘Are people really this simple?’: This Morning viewers are left astounded at ‘how to water your garden’ segment

This Morning viewers were left astounded during Friday’s show as they watched a segment entitled ‘how to water your garden’.

Fans of the ITV show took to Twitter to mock the show, as they questioned: ‘Are people really this simple?’

Presented by the programmes gardening guru Daisy Payne, 24, the segment advised people to hose their soil with water, which to most of the audience was obvious.

In a canary smock dress with a chic Peter Pan collar, Daisy explained the correct way for people at home to water their plants.

As she liberally showered a bush with a hose, the presenter said: ‘Don’t water your plants like this. This is not the way people. Do not do this. It’s bad for the plants,

‘When you’re watering your gardens, your borders, whatever, it is really important to make sure that you’re getting down into the soil so that the roots of the plants can absorb the moisture,’ she said as she crouched down in summer ready outfit.

‘Spraying your plants in the way I just showed is no good at all. It’s damaging’, Daisy hammered home as she gave the soil a good hosing with the correct method.

Britain has enjoyed scorching weather all week with an extreme weather warning for 90F (32C) temperatures until Friday.

But forecasters warned that this weekend will bring torrential downpours, thunderstorms and flooding.

The Met Office said conditions will be hottest in the South and it will be cooler in the East – and sunseekers were warned to beware of sunburn, heat exhaustion, dehydration, nausea, fatigue and other heat-related illnesses.

The heat will continue, but this will be replaced by rain and storms spreading from the South West on Friday night, introducing unsettled weather to much of England and Wales on Saturday and Sunday.
