Royal commentator Neil Sean said that sources at the Palace confirmed an invite for the ceremony would be sent out but claimed it was unclear whether they would have a “major role” in the occasion.
He said last week: “Everybody who is anybody will want to attend the coronation because it goes down in history. Everyone looks at the guestlist. But the focus has returned to Charles’ youngest son. I contacted the Palace, and they confirmed that yes, they will be invited, but they did not want to confirm the role they will be playing.”
The King and Queen Camilla would like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to attend the occasion, according to Entertainment Tonight’s royal expert Katie Nicholl.
She claimed: “Behind the scenes, Camilla has done really everything she can to try and bring this family back together, and press the importance of trying to move on from this rift, and I think she would be very pleased, as would the King for Harry and Meghan to be at the coronation.”
But she added the couple will have the “ultimate decision as to whether they’re going to come over” to the UK from their home in California for the coronation.

In a poll which ran from midday on Monday, October 17, to 8am on Saturday, October 22, Express.co.uk asked readers: “Should Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attend the King’s coronation?”
A total of 19,334 people responded with the overwhelming majority, 91 percent (17,679 people), answering “no” Meghan and Harry should not attend the King’s coronation.
A further eight percent (1,448 people) said “yes” they should attend, while one percent (207 people) said they did not know either way.

The King’s coronation will take place eight months after he came to the throne, following Queen Elizabeth II’s death on September 8.
Charles reportedly plans for a scaled-back ceremony which reflects the Firm’s role in modern-day Britain and respects the cost of living crisis facing the country.
The guest list is expected to include 2,000 members of the Royal Family, Commonwealth leaders, members of Parliament and charity representatives.
Some 8,000 guests from 129 nations travelled to witness the Queen’s coronation on June 2, 1953, – 15 months after she ascended the throne.
