More drama on The Block as Mitch and Mark’s house is SHUT DOWN by Foreman Keith over safety concerns

The Block has been rocked by a cheating scandal in recent weeks.

And there was more drama on the show on Tuesday, this time in Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie’s house.

The stylish grandads had their house shut down during bathroom week, after foreman Keith Schleiger said there was a safety concern.

Keith inspected the site and saw four or five live cables in the area, meaning anyone could be at risk of an electric shock.

He made the call shut the site down, and Mitch and Mark had to call an electrician to sort out the issue.

‘It doesn’t work that way, guys,’ Keith said, appearing a little agitated.

‘I noticed about four or five live cables dangling on the ground… we need to stop work until your sparky can come in and fix this up,’ he added.

Mitch and Mark had half a dozen tradies they decided to keep on site while the issue was fixed, which likely cost them thousands of dollars.

Their house ended up being shut down for two hours, but work resumed once the issue was resolved by the electrician.

The team and their tradies soon got back to tiling the bathroom, but Mitch was ‘anxious’ because the tiles were delicate to work with.

‘I have chosen the most difficult tiles possible to work with. These beautiful grand marble tiles that are three metres by one metre,’ he said.

‘I can’t watch the tiles being carried in big sheets; it makes me anxious. It’s like carrying a big sheet of glass, only more fragile.’

In recent weeks, The Block has been rocked by a cheating scandal.

Blockheads Tanya and Vito Guccione claimed earlier this week they’d received ‘death threats’ as a result of their involvement in the rule-breaking.

The couple had two points docked from their latest room reveal on Sunday, after Tanya admitted a ‘tradie’ had sent her a picture of the production schedule in week one – giving anyone who saw it an unfair advantage.

The Gucciones told Fitzy & Wippa on Tuesday the backlash they’d faced had been catastrophic, with trolls even calling their workplaces to leave abusive messages.

‘Obviously we’re doing our best to stay offline but… there has been death threats,’ Tanya, 39, said.

She added: ‘People are angry at the moment. They’re really upset; it’s an audience that are not happy in their lives and are in lockdown, and they take it out on me.’

The duo also confirmed the scandal was far from over – even hinting that more teams could be dragged into the drama in the coming weeks.
