The Bachelor has given fans a glimpse at what they can expect from the upcoming season of the hit reality show.

A teaser trailer for the series premiered on Network 10 on Thursday, showing new Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson decked out in his pilot’s uniform.

As he wheeled his suitcase with his pilot hat tucked under his arm, the familiar strain of Up Where We Belong – the award-winning ballad from An Officer and a Gentleman – began to play.

Jimmy then continued his journey through the terminal, with loved-up couples reuniting at every turn as he walked alone.

Clearly a romantic at heart, Jimmy grinned at the couples as he made his way out onto the tarmac.

Once outside, he was greeted by Bachelor host Osher Günsberg, who presented Jimmy with a bouquet of red roses.

‘Fasten your seatbelt, Jimmy. You’re in for the ride of your life,’ the 47-year-old told the Bachelor hopeful.

He then made his way up the stairs of a plane branded with The Bachelor in its trademark red font.

After taking his seat in the cockpit, Jimmy took off into the air, with the roses resting on the seat beside him.

At the exact moment that the plane took off, the song broke into its familiar hook: ‘Love lift us up where we belong / Where the eagles cry / On a mountain high’.

The plane then began to leave a trail of red rose petals as it streaked across the sky, with the words, ‘First Officer Jimmy… is looking for love,’ appearing onscreen.
