Lidl
Lidl is known to be one of the most affordable supermarkets in the UK.
Money expert Rick Harris explained that “for the average weekly food shop, it has been revealed that Lidl is the cheapest by a massive £26.02 in comparison to other more expensive supermarkets.”
He recommended buying meat and dairy in Lidl as they offer the best value for money. “Lidl tend to offer excellent value on things like meat and dairy – but you’ll often find better value for loose vegetables in places like Sainsbury’s, Tesco or Morrisons,” he said.
Finance expert Sarah Holt, said: “When it comes to wine, beer and other alcoholic options, Lidl regularly have alternative and own brand options available for popular branded products such as Aperol, Bailey’s, Pimm’s and even Brew Dog beer, that can help to lower the price of your weekly shop.”
Lidl has its one app, Lidl Plus, where shoppers can get money off vouchers every Thursday.
First time customers will also save £5 when they spend £25. The first time offer is valid for 14 days from when you activate the app.
