Sunrise team revisits the awkward moment Khloe Kardashian hung up on them during an interview – before they called her an ‘idiot’ on air
David ‘Kochie’ Koch has reflected upon one of the most awkward interviews in Sunrise history.
Appearing on Thursday’s broadcast, the 65-year-old described the bizarre moment Khloe Kardashian hung up on him and former co-host Samantha Armytage mid-way through a live interview in 2014.
At the time, Khloe beamed in live from LA to discuss the Kardashian Kollection’s new lingerie and baby clothing lines.

However, Khloe suddenly ‘lost satellite connection’ after Samantha asked a question about Khloe’s niece North.
Describing what really happened, Kochie told his new co-host Natalie Barr on Thursday: ‘When we lost the satellite connection, [Khloe’s team] deliberately pulled the plug.
‘Because [Khloe] came on to talk about, which one was it? I get them mixed up,’ Kochie continued, struggling to recall which child Khloe was allowed to discuss in the interview.

He continued: ‘She came on to talk about her new children’s clothing line, and then refused to answer questions about the other one’s babies. And they deliberately pulled the plug on her!’
The 2014 incident occurred after Samantha asked Khloe how ‘baby North was going’.
‘The baby line is inspired by nieces and nephews starting to arrive, how’s baby North going?’ the journalist asked.

Sunrise quickly Tweeted that the interview was cut short due to Samantha’s line of questioning.

Khloe promptly fired back, accusing the morning show of trying to create a story out of nothing.
‘Why would I cut an interview short because of North? Get over yourself Sunrise… The call dropped… stop reaching for a story. You are so f***ing desperate! ‘she Tweeted.

Khloe later Tweeted ‘Sorry KhloMoney took my phone’, referencing her outspoken alter-ego.
Sunrise executive producer Michael Pell told Daily Mail Australia that Khloe’s people did pull the plug on the interview and said her local rep had apologised.
He also Tweeted: ‘What happened with @khloekardashian on the show is a good lesson for publicists everywhere. Don’t try to censor natural conversation.’
Kochie fired back and called Khloe an ‘idiot’ later in the program.
‘[My daughter] Brie’s going to be very angry with me criticising Khloe, but she’s an idiot,’ he said. ‘I’m sorry… I’m sorry to do that.’
Kochie and Samantha also went on air after Khloe sent the Tweets to deny her claims the call was dropped due to a bad satellite.
‘Our information from LA was that the plug was pulled when we talked about baby North. We were not given any information that that was off limits, you are launching a babies’ clothing line which you yourself admitted was inspired by your nieces and nephews,’ Samantha said.
