James Bye and Amy Dowden confused Strictly Come Dancing fans on Saturday night after they performed their Halloween routine dressed as a beekeeper and a bee. Despite receiving great feedback from the judges and a high score, some viewers were less than impressed.
Some viewers also believed James had been “short-changed” over the choice of costume.
Taking to social media to share their thoughts about James and Amy’s costumes, Lisa wrote: “James’s bee costume nonsense is the same as Richie’s Lion King nonsense. He’s probably going home. #Strictly.”
Lauren Ashcroft said: “What (can’t stress that enough) on earth was the Bee concept about?”
While Caroline M penned: “Not very Halloweeny, James has been a bit short-changed here…. Should have dressed as Boo Bees.”
