Police were called following reports of a fight between two men on Bridge Road, in Southampton, yesterday at around 1.40pm. One of the men – believed to be in his mid-twenties – sustained injuries from a stab wound to his stomach
His injuries are believed not to be life-threatening at this moment.
The other man is said to have fled the scene.
Detectives are treating the incident as an isolated incident as the men were believed to know each other.
This comes after a Southampton man was detained indefinitely at a psychiatric hospital for stabbing a police officer four times.
Back in October, police arrived at Timothy Walsh’s flat in Southampton for a welfare check.
Mr Walsh ran at the officers holding a knife and stabbed one three times in the neck and once in the arm.
During his trial, Mr Walsh was found to have carried out an act of causing grievous bodily harm.
