Snapchat is DOWN: Social media app crashes around the world, leaving users unable to send or receive photos

Snapchat appears to have gone down with users worldwide complaining of being unable to send or receive photos.

According to Down Detector, the problems started at about 11:50 BST (06:50 ET) and so far more than 12,000 complaints have been logged.

MailOnline has approached Snapchat for a comment.

A number of Snapchat users have taken to Twitter to share their frustration about the outage.

One wrote: ‘Everybody rushing to Twitter to see if Snapchat is down.’

Another added: ‘Snapchat down for anyone else?’

Users have been complaining and the outage has been logged on the website Down Detector

In response, the Snapchat Support Twitter account tweeted: ‘Let’s see how we can help.

‘Send us a DM with some details on what’s happening and we’ll take it from there.’
