Sophie Hinchliffe, also known as Mrs Hinch, garnered popularity after sharing her cleaning tricks on social media and TV. Over the years, the cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Now, Mrs Hinch fans have created their own social media groups dedicated to sharing cleaning and tidying tips.
On one of the Facebook groups, which has 633,000 members, a Mrs Hinch fan asked how to stop their vacuum cleaner “stinking”.
Social media user Sophie Bristow asked: “How do your stop Henry hoovers from stinking?
“I presume mine has gone damp as it smells like really bad doggy stale water (it’s four years old) and I’ve never had this issue before!
“I’ve cleaned the pipe thoroughly and the part where the bag sits but the smell is stuck in the lid/ engine/ motor.”
Sophie’s post was inundated with comments and support from fellow Mrs Hinch fans who had experienced a similar problem.

Sarah Leacy-Kelly said: “Wash the filter, then add a deodoriser or scent beads.”
Jane Smith replied: “Wash the filter frequently and the pipes when you need to.
“Change the bag even before it’s full if it smells.
“I also use Lenor scent booster in a new bag or any other make to be honest.”
You can buy in-wash fragrance boosters from Tesco for just £2.60 or The Range for £2.99.
“Honestly, hands down the best hoover I’ve ever owned.”
Amanda Munro said: “I sprinkle Zoflora on the new bag when I change them.”
Beverley Watson suggested: “After cleaning and replacing with a new hoover bag, I sprinkle a little essential oil on the hoover bag and filter.
“Works a treat..I used one that smell of cloves and is still going strong after two weeks.”
