Shailene Woodley scintillates in green gingham bikini for surfing session in Malibu

Her NFL superstar fiance Aaron Rodgers is preparing to play in rainy weather when his Green Bay Packers match up against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon in Wisconsin.

But it is all sunshine for Shailene Woodley.

The 29-year-old actress absolutely smoldered in a tiny bikini as she enjoyed a surfing session in celeb-favorite Malibu, California on Wednesday.

She proudly put her toned abs on display in the green gingham-patterned two piece while surveying the waves on the west coast.

Shailene went au naturel for the surfing outing as she had her highlighted tresses up in a bun to show off her make-up free face.

However, one thing that appeared to be missing was her engagement ring as she obviously did not want to take any chances with losing it in the ocean.

The talented actress showed that she was serious about hitting the waves as she carried along a very bright multi-colored surfboard as she hit the waves.

She was later seen carrying the large plank back to a pick-up truck with a cover for safe storage.

 Meanwhile her 37-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback fiance Aaron Rodgers is getting ready for week four of the NFL season.

As he will spend most of the season in Wisconsin while she lives in LA, many have wondered how their relationship will work but Rodgers seems optimistic as earlier this month he said he thinks spending time away from her will be a ‘good thing.’

In an interview with Haute Living, he said: ‘I just work up one day and said, “I think I’m going to play ball. I really thought about what I wanted to do, and there was a lot of growth opportunities and good change to be part of in Green Bay, so I decided to come back.

He said of his and Shailene’s relationship: ‘It’s a busy work time for her, so [my decision] probably came at a good time for both of us to be able to focus on our work.’

Aaron added: ‘I think it’s going to be a good thing. I mean, her work was shut down for an entire year [during the coronavirus pandemic], and she’s booked a number of projects.’

‘She enjoys working and her own routine, which I obviously enjoy, too.’  

In July, Shailene said that her and Aaron are in no rush for a wedding: ‘There’s no wedding planning happening. There’s no rush. We’ve got no rush,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.

The movie star said they are ‘simply enjoying’ their time together after getting engaged. 

The lovebirds were said to be dating just days before he coyly thanked his ‘fiancee’ while accepting an award at the NFL Honors, but he never mentioned her by name.

And later Shailene confirmed she indeed was the fiancee in question during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

‘Yes, we are engaged but for us it’s not new news, you know…we’ve been engaged for a while,’ she shared.

Rodgers had been in a nearly three year relationship with race car vet Danica Patrick who was reported to have introduced him to Woodley. By July Patrick’s rep had confirmed to Us Weekly they were ‘no longer together.’

A sports blogger by the name of Terez Owens previously reported last summer that Shailene and Aaron were seen looking cozy on a getaway to Lake Tahoe which sparked romance rumors.

And by September he said in an interview with Pat McAfee that he had a ‘new and increased love of life.’

In a March Instagram live with Zenith Watches CEO Julien Tornare he shared that the engagement was ‘the best thing’ that happened to him in the last year. He also said he was looking forward to tackling fatherhood down the line.

After a long distance courtship, the two spent time together in Vancouver while Shailene films the movie Misanthrope. Afterwards they jetted to Mexico for a weekend getaway.
