Sarah Snook has revealed she proposed to new husband Dave Lawson, and can’t believe she was able to marry her best friend.
The Succession star, 33, revealed earlier this month that she secretly married Dave in the backyard of her home in Brooklyn, New York, in February.
Reflecting on the magical day, the Australian actress spoke with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Monday’s This Morning as she gushed their partnership ‘works so well’.
In love! Sarah Snook, 33, appeared on This Morning on Monday to reveal what is was like to marry her best friend during lockdown
Sarah said: ‘Both of us cringe about the “I’m so happy, I married my best friend.” We’re like, “Oh God, are we one of those people?” But it works so well.’
She went onto reveal that she took matters into her own hands with the proposal, and she was the one to get down on one knee.
The Australian star said: ‘It was that or nothing. It was like, “I’ve got to be in. I’m all in and I’m here.”‘
Sarah added that the newlyweds weren’t expecting to fall in love and that it happened quite naturally: ‘We’re very blindsided by it, we fell in love and it was the only option – we couldn’t be apart.’

Sarah first revealed she’d tied the knot with Dave in an interview with Vogue Australia this month.
She told the publication: ‘At the beginning of the pandemic last year, I got locked down in Melbourne with one of my best mates and we fell in love.
‘We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, travelled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic.’
Sarah added that the stars aligned and a romance between the pair arose.
‘We’ve just never been single at the same time,’ she explained. It’s been a ride. There’s so much heartache and sadness in the world, but on a micro personal level, I’ve been very fortunate.’

Sarah is best known for her role as Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy in Succession, which has been a huge hit for HBO.
The series is set within the powerful Roy family, who run a massive media conglomerate, with Shiv and her siblings Roman (Kieran Culkin), Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Connor (Alan Ruck) all working below their father Logan (Brian Cox).
Succession finally returned to screens this month for season three, following a slew of pandemic-based delays.

Speaking on This Morning, the beauty dished that her on-screen husband Matthew Macfayden (who plays Tom Wambsgans) is the one to break into giggles the most.
She said: ‘He’ll break, but he’s such a sweet, sweet gentleman as well – you can see the corner of his mouth going and you want to laugh as well because it’s so much fun.’
Sarah added that she almost didn’t audition for the role of Shiv in the Sky series as she didn’t think she’d be able to ‘fit’ into the part.
She explained: ‘I’m from Australia and I’m much more at home camping or in the bush and I thought the world of billionaires and high flying is not something I feel naturally inclined towards, nor able to do and so I wasn’t sure it was the right fit for me.
‘But during the pilot, I was like, “I really hope they keep me on – this is the script and it’s so much fun.”‘
Chic: Sarah admitted to not being ‘good at fashion’ like her character Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy in Succession and has actually asked for items of Shiv’s costume to take home
Holly went onto discuss Sarah’s character’s fashion choices with her, and lusted after the clothes she wears.
However, Sarah admitted to not being ‘good at fashion’ and has actually asked for items of Shiv’s costume to take home.
‘There’s a few little choice items I’ve been able to politely ask for and been politely given. There’s something about the way Michelle, the costume designer, dresses her in masculine tones but still maintaining the femininity and shape and form fitting, which I’ve really enjoyed.’

The show follows the Roy family and she described it on the morning show as being about ‘sibling rivalry and family drama.’
‘The business is the backdrop, but it’s really about the family and how they work – or don’t work together.’
She added: ‘We’ve been waiting a long time to shoot – always getting delayed and seeing the final cuts of the episodes was really exciting for us as well.
‘We started shooting in November 2020 and then there were sequences we couldn’t shoot from that episode until we got to Italy at the other end of the season, so in the end that episode was shot over two years after we finished the season before.’
