Meghan Markle has been criticised for “biting the hand that fed her” by royal author Angela Levin who accused Meghan of being “patronising” in her comments about why she quit as a Deal or No Deal briefcase girl.

Meghan claimed she was reduced to being a “bimbo” on the show and “didn’t like feeling forced to be all looks”.

Discussing the topic with Paris Hilton on her latest podcast episode Meghan said: “I was surrounded by smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn’t the focus of why we were there and I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach.

Like I said, I was thankful for the job but not for how it made me feel, which was not smart.”

Speaking to The Sun, Ms Levin blasted the Duchess saying: “She grabbed the job because she didn’t have any other ones.

If she’s got the brains, why didn’t she think ‘this is about beauty and I’m not doing it’? She was very patronising. She didn’t have to take the job.”
