The Prince and Princess of Wales are looking to create a “lasting impact and legacy” in their upcoming royal tours, particularly amid the cost of living crisis.

A source told Sky News the couple are “not shying away from the issue” and are keen to “support the hard-pressed” in “parts of the country that need a light shone on them”.

Prince William and Kate will visit Scarborough on Thursday to see the Royal Foundation pilot a “Community Impact Day”.

The royals will hear how the foundation is helping local organisations to deal with mental health, homelessness and supporting families through the cost of living crisis.

It is understood the Royal couple are planning other “Community Impact Days” next year across other areas of their work to make an impact and cement their legacy.

Those could include homelessness and supporting families with young children.
