Reports suggest Her Majesty, 95, spent time with either Zara Tindall’s children, Mia, seven, Lena, three and baby Lucas – or Peter Phillips’ children, Isla, nine, and Savannah, 10. Peter is the Queen’s oldest grandchild and Zara is his sister. They are children of Princess Anne, 71.
And the Queen welcomed two new Corgis to the family just before Prince Philip’s death in April.
The dogs were said to bring “noise and energy” to Windsor Castle while Philip, who died aged 99, was ill.
And one of the corgis has been named after the favoured picnic spot she visited with her great-grandchildren at Balmoral over recent days.
The picnic was held at Glen Muick – a beauty spot eight miles from the castle, according to Daily Mail diary editor Richard Eden.
The Queen named one of the corgis Muick – and Her Majesty has more than 30 dogs in total.
The Queen has eleven great-grandchildren.
On the night of the Duke’s funeral, an photo was shared of the Queen and Philip sitting on a picnic blanket – with the backdrop of the Coyles of Muick.
The photograph was taken by the Countess of Wessex. In June Sophie told the BBC: “We were lucky enough to go to Scotland at the half term, and I don’t know if you remember the photograph I took of them.
“I was pregnant with Louise at the time. We went up there during half term and just to be there in that place, it was an ‘Oh my God’ moment.”
Royal biographer Penny Junor told The Sun: “A few years ago it was decided she would have no more.
“But her corgis are hugely important to her. They have over the years been closer to her than any human being.
She added: “The corgis are intensely loyal and loving and they have never let her down.”
