The British monarch, 95, is normally woken up by the Piper to the Sovereign at 9am, who plays every morning for 15 minutes. She then enjoys her cup of tea without sugar, before getting dressed with the help of a lady’s maid. The Queen is helped in choosing her daily outfits by senior dresser Angela Kelly.

Ms Kelly once revealed: “Once she has chosen something to wear, I just want her to look good in it.

“I love seeing the faces of the public when they meet the Queen, and when she gives them that special smile.

“It makes me feel so proud of her.”

Her Majesty then proceeds to have her main breakfast, that she usually takes in her private dining room.

According to former royal chef Darren McGrady, she helps herself to a bowl of Kellogg’s every morning.

The cereal starter is normally followed by toast and marmalade, yoghurt and fruit and more tea.

Her breakfast routine has memorably been captured on canvas by her late husband Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh once painted his wife having breakfast at Windsor Castle in 1965.

The monarch is portrayed reading the morning papers with a cup of tea and what appears to be toast and jam at the table.
