Russian TV has seen a pro-Kremlin pundit paint a bizarre picture of life for Russia if Vladimir Putin fails to win in Ukraine. Dmitry Evstafiev, a guest on Russian state-owned channel Russia1, offered up a scenario where the victorious USA would see to it that Russians were placed in cages and displayed in Zoos alongside animals. The outburst comes as Putin continues to face domestic pressure over the Russian military’s failings in Ukraine.

Evstafiev told Russian state TV: “Western people like colonialism… They want to have us in their zoos.

“They will come and see—over there is an elephant and over here is a Russian… Don’t come close and don’t try to feed him through the cage.”

During the same exchange, the show’s co-host Margarita Simonyan delivered a long monologue praising the positive aspect of living through war versus living  under Western “ultra-liberalism.”

She said: War has goals. Along with tragedies, pain and other understandable things, war has pride, the happiness of victory, and certain personal growth.

“There are changes in personality that lead to deeper self-awareness as a part of your nation, as a part of certain values and ideals.

“What does that ultra-liberal fascist trash have? I don’t know,” she added.

“It spreads as an uncontrollable tumor, against which the chemotherapy is ineffective.

“If you allow it anywhere near your borders, before you know it, you’ll be living in a country that is dictating that you must live a certain way.

Mark Hertling told CNN: “They suddenly go off in the ditch probably because some of the soldiers that are on top of the vehicles are blocking the driver’s view. It is just a comedy of errors.

“I mean, these are the kinds of things that soldiers look for in an undisciplined, chaotic mob, not a group of soldiers and this is just representative of what we’ve seen in an untrained force from the very beginning.

“Where in this case, I’m sure there were some soldiers either badly injured or perhaps even killed when that vehicle rolled over, and it was just because they don’t know how to perform the kinds of skills that are expected of soldiers on the battlefield.”
