Anne, the Princess Royal prepares to travel to Uganda where she will attend a series of public engagements. The Princess will travel with her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, and will stay in the African country for four days, during which she will attend a busy schedule, including taking part in the opening ceremony for the first bank at the Nakivale Refugee Settlement.
The senior royal is patron to a number of charities, and will attend a series of events matching her patronages during her travel to Uganda, from October 25 until October 28.
As Patron of Opportunity International, Anne will open the first commercial bank in the Nakivale refugee settlement.
Opportunity International is a charity providing people living in poverty with access to loans.
The organisation also provides people with financial training and savings so that they can work their way out of poverty and build sustainable livelihoods.

Finally, as Patron of Transaid, Anne will conclude her time in Uganda by visiting the ‘Safe Way Right Way’ HGV truck driver training programme and watching a demonstration by female students.
On Tuesday, the Princess attended a ceremony in which she awarded actor Daniel Craig the same honour bestowed upon iconic – and fictional – British spy James Bond.
Mr Craig smiled with pride as the Princess Royal placed the medal around his neck, officially making him Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for services to film and theatre.
The ceremony took place at Windsor Castle, during which Princess Anne, representing King Charles III, donned her military uniform.
