In a poll that asked whether Prince William and Harry should finally resolve their feud at the unveiling of the statue of Princess Diana in London. William and Harry will reunite in public for the Princess Diana statue unveiling at Kensington Palace on July 1. This will be the second time the brothers will have met since the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle left the UK for America.

Of those that took part in the poll only 15 percent said yes.

Most participants said no, 82 percent, and a small number of readers, 3 percent, said that they “don’t know”.

Reacting to the question one Express.co.uk reader stated: “Personally, I would never forgive the things he’s said and done.”

Another reader fumed: “Never! Harry doesn’t deserve any kind of rapprochement.

“It is not a case even of keep your friends close and your enemies closer as they are a lost cause and anything, I repeat anything said to them will be twisted to suit them and line the coffers of Netflix etc.

    “They are beyond redemption.”

During an interview on Good Morning Britain earlier this week royal biographer Robert Lacey was asked if the siblings will actually heal their estrangement.

Mr Lacey said: “I think we will, we have something coming up on July 1.

“Both brothers are committed to being in London at the same time.

“I think that will be the occasion where something will happen but who can predict?

“They are coming to honour their mother and surely, and I am speaking as an outsider here.

“Surely when they are gathered together to honour their mother and what Diana stood for, that will be the time for what we hope will be a reconciliation.

“Because otherwise if they just appear together in public in front of the statue and there’s nothing more I think we will rightly conclude that it is a superficial gesture.”

In the poll that ran from 9.19 am on Friday, June 25 to 09.38 am on June 26, 8,138 people took part.

Those polled who said yes numbered 1,143, those who said no numbered 6,721 and those who said they did not know numbered 274.
