The Prince of Wales joked to a royal that him and the Princess were “looking for a babysitter” while greeting members of the public in Swansea. William and Kate were visiting St Thomas Church in the Welsh city, a church which offers support to local people.

One person told the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that they were “incredible” and amazing parents to their three offspring, it has been reported.

William then responded: “That’s very sweet. We’re looking for a babysitter.”

The fan replied: “Oh I love you, you’re so real. Diana would be so proud of you.”

The royal couple made their first trip to Wales since they received their new titles on Tuesday.

The Prince and Princess are both well-known in the country, having lived in Anglesey 11 years ago as newlyweds.

Kate was welcomed to Swansea by two-year-old Charlotte Bunting wearing a traditional Welsh outfit.

The young girl handed the Duchess a bouquet of flowers before giving her a hug.

St Thomas Church provides a variety of services to the local community, including a foodbank which supports over 200 people a week.

Swansea Baby Basics is also based there, which hands out vital supplies to mothers in need.

William and Kate made a trip to the RNLI Lifeboat Station in Holyhead as well during their trip.
