Various reports suggested the family had little time to talk as Harry, 36, jetted back to the US following the service on April 17. But the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK on Friday as he prepares to unveil a statue honouring Princess Diana with William, 39.

The statue will be unveiled at the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace on what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday – July 1, 2021.

A spokeswoman for Harry said he arrived “safely” at Frogmore Cottage on Friday night and is in quarantine.

It will be the first time the brothers have spoken face-to-face since the funeral.

Harry and William, 39, were seen speaking for around four minutes as they walked away from St George’s Chapel.

Writing in The Telegraph, royal expert Camilla Tominey addressed reports suggesting they had not spoken afterwards.

She said: “William and Kate chatted with Harry for over an hour at Windsor Castle, along with Charles and Camilla.

“Other Royals, including the Countess of Wessex, also spoke amiably to the prince following the service at St George’s Chapel.”

On Friday, Kensington Palace released details about the highly anticipated royal event.

Earlier this month, a royal source told the Mirror: “The Duchess has seen this project evolve from its conception and now to the finished article and undoubtedly wants to be there to support her husband.

“No doubt there will be tensions between the Cambridges and Harry, but they all recognise that despite the obvious and deep-rooted issues between them, they want the day to be solely about the Princess of Wales’s enduring legacy.”

Kate has been described as the family’s “peacemaker” by her uncle Gary Goldsmith.

He told Closer: “If anyone can bring peace to the royals, Kate can. Kate is a brilliant arbiter and peacemaker.

“Every bone in her body is about making friends and doing the best she can… she’s trying to mediate.”
