A royal author has reported that the Duke of Sussex has been calling his friends in the UK for advice after his comments about Prince Charles backfired. It has been claimed that while Prince Harry has been in the US he is “homesick” and is relying on his friends in the UK for support. These are his old friends that he has known since his time as a bachelor before he met his wife, Meghan Markle.
The royal author said that Prince Harry has been “calling UK pals for advice and wants to admit mistakes” following a string of explosive interviews where he appeared to attack his father and the Royal Family.
This “support system” is said to be made up of schoolmates, military comrades, and royal mentors and aides.
The Duke of Sussex will see his brother William for a poignant event on July 1 and is currently self-isolating after his arrival in the UK on Friday in line with Government guidelines.
Writing in The Daily Mail, royal author Robert Lacey said that Prince Harry’s friends have “listened sympathetically” to both him and Prince William in recent months without taking sides.
It has been claimed that Prince Harry has been calling his friends “mournfully” after his public complaints about his dad were so “poorly received”.
Prince Harry is currently self-isolating in Frogmore Cottage ahead of his reunion with William for the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue in the gardens of Kensington Palace.
The Duke of Sussexes family in the UK have been the target of Prince Harry’s public complaints, particularly towards his father.
Last month Prince Harry claimed his family showed “total neglect” for his mental health.

“Actually quite the opposite.
“If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, you can make it right for your kids.”
In the documentary, Prince Harry revealed he has been in therapy for “four or five years”.
He explained that he had to leave the UK to “break the cycle” of grief being passed down the generations.
In the documentary, Prince Harry referred to his wife’s mental health struggles, he said: “Meghan decided to share with me the suicidal thoughts and the practicalities of how she was going to end her life.
“The scariest thing for her was her clarity of thought.”
