The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal duties last year for a new life in California. But Omid Scobie, co-author of Finding Freedom, insists Harry and Meghan do not want to “disappear”.
Mr Scobie also referred to Meghan’s previous comments that it is “not enough just to survive something” and that “you’ve got to thrive” as she struggled with royal life.
He said: “They seem to be existing in a different place, and that place is much healthier.
“Meghan famously spoke about that it was not enough to survive – we are now in the thrive chapter.”
Lawyers for Harry and Meghan have distanced themselves from Finding Freedom, describing it as unauthorised, and saying the authors “do not speak for our clients and seem to rely on unnamed sources”.
The Sussexes quit royal duties in March 2020.
They are now living in California with two-year-old son Archie and daughter Lili, who was born in June.
