The Duchess of Cambridge married into the Royal Family more than a decade ago. A royal expert recently noted how she and Prince William were first perceived to be too formal and stuffy, but over the years Kate completely adapted to the role and made it her own. Duncan Larcombe, author of “Prince Harry: The Inside Story”, described the Duchess of Cambridge as “perfect” and highly relatable to the British public.
The royal expert noted that the public has warmed to the Cambridges in the ten years since their royal wedding.
He told OK! magazine: “When she first became a Duchess, she and William were thought by some to be too formal, as though they were trying too hard but I would say we’re now seeing a complete transformation.
“It’s been very gradual but Kate’s developed a unique style of her own.”
Despite reportedly struggling with the constant media attention in the early days of their romance, Prince Edward claimed in an interview that the entire Royal Family was delighted with Kate, right from the start.
In 2012, the Earl of Wessex said: “Catherine is doing very well.
“She has taken to royal life like a duck to water.
“She’s very gracious and the family is very proud of her.
“It was never going to be easy for Catherine as the whole world is watching her every move.
“She’s dealt with it very well, though.
“I think Catherine can only grow in confidence now her first official engagements are out of the way.”

Edward also confirmed the family’s joy that the future King had found his perfect match.
He added: “We were all thrilled to welcome Catherine into the family because she’s absolutely lovely, very charming indeed and a perfect companion for William.”
The Duchess of Sussex did not seem to enjoy royal life as much as Kate.
She and Prince Harry made a huge decision last year, as they announced their intentions to step back as senior members of the Royal Family.
Harry and Meghan eventually relocated from their temporary Vancouver Island residence to Los Angeles in March 2020, before settling nearby in Montecito as they began their new post-royal lives.
The decision to step down came after months of speculation that the Duchess could not settle into royal life, as she found it “very difficult”.
In a documentary filmed throughout her 10-day tour of Africa with Harry in October 2019, Meghan revealed that she was “existing” not “living”.
Moreover, in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey last March, the Duchess gave an insight into the mental health pressures she battled during her time as a royal.
The Duchess detailed the severe impact that the media and the Royal Family had on her mental wellbeing, particularly while she was pregnant with her first child, Archie.
She said she asked for help both from within the Palace and permission to seek support outside of it, and was knocked back.
The Palace later issued a statement saying “some recollections may vary”.
