Pink's husband Carey Hart gives update after having 'lower spine disc replacement'

Pink’s husband Carey Hart is keeping his fans updated after undergoing the first of two disc replacement surgeries on his lower spine earlier this week.

‘One down and one to go!!!!! Lower spine disc replacement was a success!!!’ wrote the 46-year-old on Instagram, adding that he was ‘out of bed and walking, just a few hours post surgery.’

Hart suffers from back pain as the result of fracturing his lower spine approximately a dozen times during the course of his professional motocross/BMX career, as per Rolling Stone.

He has undergone at least 8 surgeries in the past to correct the damage, including a spinal fusion in 2014 and an unspecified back procedure in December of 2019.

Carey had his most recent operation on Tuesday, September 21 at DISC Sports & Spine Center in Newport Beach, California.

Now home and recuperating, Carey revealed in his Instagram post that he has been able to stand up on his own ‘5 times’ since being discharged.

Seemingly calling back to his 2014 spinal fusion, Carey joked that he is ‘glad my fusion has some company with the M6 disc replacement.

‘Can’t wait to come back stronger than ever, and kick a** on my dirtbike in 2022.’

Feeling things out: The final slide featured a video of Carey – captured by Pink – walking around the hospital just four hours after surgery. He explained in the clip that he felt ‘good’ despite feeling a bit ‘sore in [his] belly’ and some tightness in his back

Post-surgery, Hart was visited by his rockstar wife and their four-year-old son Jameson, who ‘had mama bring this sloth to keep me company while in the hospital.’

He was referencing the adorable plush featured in one of the Instagram snapshots of him relaxing in his hospital bed – seemingly ahead of the procedure.

Carey then delivered ‘a special thank you’ to his ‘amazing wife/nurse who has taken amazing care of me through all of this. I love you baby.

‘Thanks to all my friends for the well wishes. Unfortunately the drugs I’m on, I can’t see my phone very well. I will respond when I can read again,’ he concluded.

Some other shots included in Hart’s Instagram post included an image of him sleeping his hospital bed with an IV in his arm and tubes everywhere, as well as several X-ray images of his disc replacement.

Last August, Hart had an operation on his left shoulder that he documented on Instagram. After getting his arm out of a sling one week post-op, he jumped right into physical therapy.

Based on more recent posts, he has been enduring grueling boxing workouts at his and Pink’s home gym, while also BMX biking with their two children on the regular.

Carey and Pink have been married since 2006 and share 10-year-old daughter Willow and four-year-old son Jameson.
