    Musician Pete Murray quit SAS Australia on Monday night’s episode.

    The 51-year-old was forced to medically withdraw from the military-style course after dislocating his elbow during a savage boxing match with Mark Philippoussis.

    With the immense pain visible on his face, Pete was told he had no option but to leave the show, and was sent to hospital to undergo x-rays.

    Prior to the match, Pete revealed in a piece to camera how fighting isn’t his strength.

    ‘I’ve only had a couple of fights in my life but they’ve been defending other people. So I don’t get in a habit of getting into fights. You just don’t know what’s going to happen,’ he explained. 

    It was evident during his fight with retired tennis star Mark, 44, that he was losing momentum, dramatically falling to the ground in pain after Mark collided with Pete.

    Chief Instructor Ant Middleton was heard in the background announcing that Pete’s elbow had ‘come out of joint’ and immediately called in a medic. 

    Pete’s fellow recruits were told that he had no option but to medically withdraw.

    ‘I told you, you’re going to get cuts, bruises, stitches, breaks,’ Ant shouted at them.

    ‘I said at the beginning, this is not a f***ing game! If you don’t like it, give me your numbers, grab your kit and f**k off!’

    Wanting to have progressed further in the competition, Pete told Ant that he ‘didn’t expect to go like this’.

    Despite the ordeal, Pete said in a piece to camera that age should never be a barrier.

    ‘I think most people over 50 wouldn’t want to do this, but age is no barrier,’ he said in an inspiring segment.

    ‘You can do anything you want and don’t be scared of your age. Just get out there and have a go.

    ‘I can walk away from this knowing I’ve done the best I can. I’ve pushed myself as far as I can and as hard as I can. If I’ve left nothing on the table then I’ve got to be happy,’ he continued. 

    SAS Australia continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
