Outlander fans are keen to see how Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) love story will evolve in future seasons. With season seven already in the pipeline, some new characters are set to make an appearance. Laura Donnelly has said goodbye to the role of Jenny Murray, with a new actress taking over.
Who is playing Jenny Murray in Outlander?
Jenny Murray is the older sister of Jamie in the series and she is married to Ian Murray (Steven Cree).
As the only girl out of her siblings, she spent a lot of time during her younger years with Jamie and their mother.
After their mother died, Jenny became the woman of the house and she ran the household through to adulthood.
In the series, Claire met Jenny when Jamie arrive at Lallybroch and she was pregnant at the time.
It took Jenny a while to form a friendship with Claire but they eventually became close friends.

Executive Producer Maril Davis told Entertainment Weekly in December 2018: “We had every intention of having a Brianna and Jenny [moment] but we waited and we kept dragging our feet, quite honestly, because we thought we could convince her and the schedules would change.
“We could move our schedule and accommodate her but at the end of the day, it just didn’t work out so we scrambled to come up with another story.”
As for who else is joining the cast for season seven, Bridgerton’s Philip Crane star Chris Fulton is joining as Rob Cameron.
House of the Dragon’s Graham McTavish will be reprising the role of Dougal MacKenzie, despite being killed off in season two.
Meanwhile, Buck will be played by Vikings star Diarmaid Murtagh for the new season, with Nell Hudson as Laoghaire Fraser and Steve Cree as Old Ian Murray.
Dune’s Gloria Obianyo plays Mercy Woodcock and The Last Kingdom’s Rod Hallett joins as Revolutionary soldier turned traitor Benedict Arnold.
Outlander is available to stream on Starz in the US and on LIONSGATE+ in the UK
