The conversation was broached by Loveable Rogue Sonny, 28, who told the radio hosts that he’d spoken to actor Peter Capaldi, who said he would ‘quite like’ to see Olly play the next Doctor.
Sonny continued to play Peter’s audio clip, who said: ‘Well I think it’s great, I would say bring some of his pop costumes that would be good to have Doctor Who dressed like, because he dresses very cool.’
The It’s A Sin star replied: ‘Oh that’s nice! My pop costumes!’

Sonny asked: ‘Yeah it’s all nice…are you going to be playing Doctor Who?’
Laughing, Olly simply replied ‘no’, with Roman, 28, adding that he would be ‘fantastic.’

Roman continued: ‘And if they are listening, I’m sure they are, they couldn’t pick anyone better’, to which Olly said, ‘oh that’s very sweet.’
Naturally, the news that Jodie, 39, was hanging up the time traveller’s shoes left fans heartbroken but also excited as whispers began over who was set to play the 14th iteration of the doctor.
In January, it was reported that Jodie’s Doctor Who was drawing in less than 5 million viewers – half the numbers that David Tennant brought in – meaning a facelift of the cast could save the shows viewing figures.
