    English-born former South Sydney Rabbitohs player Luke Burgess has sold his home in Chifley for $300,000 over the asking price.

    The four-bedroom property, which is a stone’s throw away from coastal walks and pristine beaches, had been listed with a price guide of $2.1million early last month.

    But the 34-year-old sportsman was able to secure a $2.42million sale at auction, reports realestate.com.au.

    The two-level duplex has four bedrooms, including a master suite with an ensuite, and a study nook.

    There is a modern kitchen with a large island bench and high-end appliances, including a Miele dishwasher. 

    The property also has a multi-use lock-up garage with storage and internal access, as well as a swimming pool.

    Luke is the oldest of the NRL-playing Burgess brothers, including Sam, 32, and twins Thomas and George, 29.

    Last year, he launched the 4B clothing brand with his three siblings.

    Luke started his professional career with Leeds Rhinos in the English Super League, winning a title in 2009.

    He moved to Australia ahead of the 2011 NRL season, signing a deal alongside his brothers with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

    Luke later moved to Manly, spending two campaigns with the Sea Eagles in 2015 and 2016, before retiring two years later.

    Outside of his sporting career, he is father to seven-year-old daughter Grace Luca, whom he shares with his model ex-girlfriend Yolanda Hodgson.
