Novak Djokovic reveals what Medvedev told him after 'surprise' retirement from Astana semi

In fact, so dominant was Medvedev’s run in Astana that he hadn’t dropped more than three games in any set until he came up against Djokovic on Saturday. The Serb is due to face Tsitsipas on Sunday as the pair prepare to do battle in their second final of the year, having also played at the Italian Open back in May.

Djokovic came out on top in Rome with a routine win, including a bagel in the first set, but Tsitsipas has been in formidable form over the past few days. Big wins over Hubert Hurkacz and Andrey Rublev saw him through to the final where he will hope to notch his third career win over the 21-time Grand Slam champion.
