NEYMAR is reportedly house hunting in Barcelona ahead of a sensational return from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian has persistently been linked with a move back to Spain since his £198million PSG transfer in August 2017.

Spanish TV station Gol suggest that homecoming is imminent with Neymar, 27, actively looking to move out of his incredible five-storey Paris Mansion – that was once owned by Ronaldinho – and back into his old place.

Neymar – who denies claims he raped a model in Paris – lived in Castelldefels, a swanky area of Barcelona, during his four-year stint in Spain and had both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez as neighbours.

Amazingly, his three-bedroom, £4.4m former home, kitted out with an outdoor pool, gym and two living rooms, also once belonged to Brazil legend Ronaldinho.

Reports this week claimed Barca and PSG are “close” to a deal that could cost £89million PLUS Ousmane Dembele, Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic.

And it is claimed Neymar “begged” club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi via text message to sell him back to the club where he made his name.

The Catalans won La Liga last season but looked unconvincing on the European stage as they threw away a three-goal lead in the Champions League semi-final to lose to Liverpool.

Key members of Barcelona’s dressing room – led by Lionel Messi – are said to be desperate for him to return.

Messi, Suarez and Neymar made up the fearsome MSN attacking trio between 2014 and 2017 in which time they won the Chamions League.

Speaking before the Copa America kicked off, Argentina superstar Messi, 31, gushed about his Brazilian former team-mate.

He said: “He’s a phenomenon, we keep in touch and still talk, in fact we have a Whatsapp group, him, Luis Suarez and me, it’s called ‘The three South Americans’ or something like that.”

And Uruguay striker Suarez, 32, said: “Who wouldn’t want to play alongside him and Messi again?”

Despite winning Ligue 1 in both seasons, as well as the French Cup and League Cup, Neymar’s PSG spell has been blighted by injury and Champions League failure.

It looks as if the French giants, who have always bullishly warned Europe’s elite that Neymar is not for sale, could be ready to cash in.

L’Equipe reported that his fitness concerns, the rise of French World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe, and his persistent partying are three reasons PSG will listen to offers for the striker.

And president Al-Khelaifi gave the biggest indication yet that Neymar’s time in the French capital could be over by vowing to overhaul his transfer plan and eliminate “celebrity behaviour”.

In a wide-ranging interview with France Football, he said: “Players will have to assume their responsibilities even more than before. It must be completely different.

“They will have to do more, work more. They are not there to please themselves.

“And if they do not agree, the doors are open. Ciao! I do not want to have any celebrity behaviour anymore.”
