Princess Eugenie has joined fellow members of the Anti-Slavery Collective to attend an art exhibition in central London on Monday morning. The princess, 32, has long been involved in efforts to end modern-day slavery, and helped set up the organisation a number of years ago.

Eugenie stepped out with survivors of modern slavery to attend the ‘Art is Freedom’ exhibition in Trafalgar Square.

The exhibition is supported by Hestia, London-based domestic abuse charity.

This is the fifth year that the exhibition, curated by two survivors, has been put on display.

The Anti-Slavery Collective was founded in 2017 by Princess Eugenie and Julia de Boinville.

The organisation aims to “raise awareness of modern slavery as a global epidemic”.

Princess Eugenie is also a patron of several charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Blue Marine Foundation.

The exhibition comes ahead of Anti-Slavery Day, which will be observed on Tuesday.

Ahead of the day, the co-founders said it marked an opportunity to raise the profile of the issue in today’s society.

Ms de Boinville said in a short clip also featuring Princess Eugenie: “Anti-Slavery Day provides everyone with an opportunity to raise awareness about human trafficking and modern slavery, and to shine a light on the incredible people in this movement who are fighting to end modern slavery in all its forms.”

Princess Eugenie then added: “Up until October 18, we are going to be introducing you to a group of individuals whose voices, work and advocacy we admire”.

The organisation’s Instagram account then shared details of people involved in anti-slavery work, with personal testimony accompanying images of the stories the group wishes to promote.

The organisation also launched a podcast earlier this year.

Princess Eugenie added: “From lawmakers and company leaders to famous activists, survivors and journalists, Floodlight shows you just how prominent modern slavery is and that we can all do something about it.”
