Naomi Osaka sends Levi's to Marcus Rashford as she parties at Tag Heuer bash in New York

Naomi Osaka recently released her own line of upcycled denim clothing with Levi’s. It’s the latest in a series of partnerships for the world No 3, and it seems she has already received the approval of Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United star has previously shared snaps in the four-time Grand Slam champion’s merchandise and received a special gift from Osaka following the launch of her latest collection.

Osaka is no amateur when it comes to fashion, having previously released collections with Frankie’s Bikinis, Adeam and Strathberry, and has an ongoing collection with her main sponsor, Nike.

It was her Nike collection that originally caught Rashford’s eye, with the 23-year-old spotted wearing her ‘NO’ logo beanie earlier this year, capturing the world No 3’s attention.

She posted the photo to her Instagram story at the time, being re-posted by the England star, and shared her excitement following a win at the Miami Open, saying: “I was really cool to see him wear the beanie because I’ve never really seen a famous athlete wear my Nike stuff before.

“Actually, it was a really big honour for me and I thanked him. Yeah, I was super happy.”

“I always loved wearing kimonos when I was a kid,” she said.

“So, to be able to do it in denim felt really different and a bit unexpected.”

The world No 3 was honoured by another of her sponsors on Thursday, as she attended the TAG Hauer Celebrates Naomi Osaka and Tennis Family event in New York ahead of the US Open.

The likes of NFL wide receiver Victor Cruz were in attendance at the event, hosted at Mr. Purple on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

The Japanese tennis star became a brand ambassador for the Swiss luxury watch label back in January, just weeks after announcing her ambassadorship for Louis Vuitton.

Osaka is gearing up to defend her US Open title in Flushing Meadows, when the final Grand Slam tournament of the year gets underway on Monday (August 30).

She faces world No 86 Marie Bouzkova in her opening round match.

The pair have played once before, in the first round of the 2020 Australian Open, with the four-time Grand Slam champion winning 6-2 6-4.

She has also been drawn in the same quarter as the likes of Coco Gauff and Angie Kerber, either one of who she could potentially meet in the round of 16.

Elina Svitolina and Simona Halep lurk as potential quarter-final opponents, while second seed Aryna Sabalenka, who has looked dangerous this season, could meet Osaka in the semi-final.
