Flooding of homes and businesses is possible as the day goes on, as well as potential disruption to public transport services.

The Flood Warning Service currently has no warnings out, but Express.co.uk will update this report as the day goes on.

The warning was updated in the last hour as the wet weather is expected to clear earlier than originally thought.

The updated warning reads: “Warning area pulled southeastwards (removed from parts of northern and western England but extended to more of the south and southeast).

“Suggested impacts reduced to reflect the lower rainfall amounts , which are now expected. Clearance time brought forward.”
