Speaking on Channel 5’s Meghan at 40: The Climb To Power, royal author Tom Quinn weighed in on Meghan’s discussion with the US media mogul. Meghan claimed efforts to receive treatment for her mental health issues were made difficult by being a member of The Firm.

Reflecting on the interview, Mr Quinn opined: “I think the problem for Meghan was that she was angry, she was upset.

“But I think later on she will think ‘I shouldn’t have burnt my bridges to that extent’.”

Royal expert Ashley Pearson echoed Mr Quinn’s remarks, adding that the Duchess may regret her comments in the future.

She said: “Some people might wonder whether or not Meghan may live to regret all of the revelations in the Oprah interview.

“Oprah herself said afterwards that she was surprised that Meghan said some of the things that she did.”

During the interview, Harry told Oprah that his brother Prince William is “trapped” in the Royal Family.

He said: “My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave.

“And I have huge compassion for that.”
