The Duchess of Sussex became friendly with the Canadian First Lady in 2016. Meghan had previously met Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the One Young World summit in Ottawa that year, with the pair pictured deep in conversation.
During the introduction of her podcast, the royal mother-of-two described how she hosted the event at her home in Santa Barbara earlier this year, adding it was a chance to “get the kids together, drink wine, swim”.
She described how she had bought an “inflatable pizza slice online” which the family “splashed about on” calling it “a big hit”.
