Meghan Markle appears to walk away from the Netflix documentary in a new interview for the Variety magazine in which the Duchess made a seris of bombshell revelations. In an extract of the interview, Meghan reveals that their story has not been told exactly the way she and Prince Harry would have wanted. But she added she was trusting film director Liz Garbus to tell the story through her lens.
TalkTV Royal Editor Sarah Hewson reported: “Another point of note is Meghan in this interview appears to be distancing herself from the Netflix documentary series.
“The cameras that have been following Harry and Meghan for so long now because she talks about entrusting someone else to tell our story.
“And that means it might not be the story we would tell.”
When asked what viewers can expect about her upcoming Netflix docuseries in a new Variety cover story, Ms Markle said: “It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story—a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired—even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it.
“But that’s not why we’re telling it. We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens.”
The Duchess of Sussex added, “It’s interesting. My husband has never worked in this industry before.
“For me, having worked on Suits, it’s so amazing to be around so much creative energy and to see how people work together and share their own points of view. That’s been really fun.”
