Prince William and Prince Harry will have been able to “cut through the noise” without their wives at the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue, royal commentators have claimed. The Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex took part in an unveiling ceremony for a new statue of their mother, Princess Diana. Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed the absence of Meghan Markle and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, from the event.
Ms Fiorito told listeners: “It’s kind of good that Kate and Meghan weren’t there.
“Just because I feel it was a chance for the brothers to have a one-on-one without anyone else there.
“So they can cut through the noise of everything going on and everything that’s been said about their relationship.
“Hopefully there were able to do this in honour of their mother’s memory.”

She continued: “We’ve been looking forward to this since 2017 when it was announced.
“2017 was the 20th anniversary of her death.
“We know Kate played somewhat of a royal peacemaker at Prince Philip’s funeral.
“But I do think it’s nice to have had just the brothers.”
The memorial had been commissioned by William and Harry to mark what would have been their mother’s 60th birthday.
The unveiling took place in Kensington Palace’s Sunken Gardens in a private ceremony.
Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, and her sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Jane Fellowes, were in attendance.
Additionally, sculpture artist Ian Rank-Broadley and garden designer Pip Morrison were invited.
No other royals were present during the event.
