Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plunged the royal family into crisis in recent months thanks to their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry’s controversial tell-all with the Armchair Expert podcast.
And while royal enthusiasts remain hopeful the family will soon make amends, a telling detail in the royals’ reactions to the Sussex’s baby news suggests reconciliation isn’t on the cards.
On Tuesday, Australian TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson, 61, pointed out that there was a noticeable difference between the way certain members of the royal family phrased their congratulatory messages to Harry and Meghan upn the arrival of their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Did you notice it? Australian TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson, 61, (left) has pointed out a VERY telling detail in the royal family’s reactions to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s (both right) baby news
‘Can’t help noticing that neither the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, nor Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, used Harry and Meghan’s royal titles in the messages of congrats on the birth of baby Lilibet,’ The Project host Tweeted.
She added: ‘The Queen – after whom the baby is named – was the only one that did.’
Choosing not to use Harry and Meghan’s royal titles could be construed as a subtle indication that they are no longer considered part of the royal family.

Indeed, Prince William and Kate Middleton referred to the Sussexes by their first names in an official congratulations message on Instagram, writing: ‘We are all delighted by he happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie’.
Harry’s father Prince Charles and wife Camilla Parker-Bowles similarly failed to use the Sussex’s royal titles in their congratulatory message.
‘Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie on the arrival of baby Lilibet Diana,’ the couple wrote on Instagram.

The Queen, however, did refer to the couple as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in her official statement, perhaps subtly indicating that their relationship remains intact.
Indeed, in the Sussex’s recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry spoke of his respect for his grandmother, while Meghan said: ‘The Queen… has always been wonderful to me.’
Meghan and Harry plunged the royal family into crisis with the televised interview in March, when they accused an unnamed royal of making a racist remark about their son Archie’s skin tone and claimed the royals failed to help the Duchess when she was suicidal.
Last month, Harry also spoke out during a series with Winfrey on mental health for Apple TV+ and suggested his father, Prince Charles, had allowed his children to ‘suffer’ when it came to the media because of his own negative experience.
