Meghan Markle has admitted that a new series on her life with Prince Harry “may not be the way we would have told it”. The Duchess said the documentary will go through someone’s “lens” other than her own.

A new series by Netflix will look into the Montecito lives of the royal couple.

Prince Harry and Meghan moved to California after stepping back as “senior” royals in early 2020 to “work to become financially independent”.

The work is directed by Liz Garbus, who was also behind “The Fourth Estate”, on the New York Times during former President Donald Trump’s first year in office, as well as the 2020 documentary “All In: The Fight for Democracy”.

Meghan Markle has revealed that the series on her life, and on that of Prince Harry, “may not be the way we would have told it”.

The Duchess told Variety magazine: “It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story – a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired – even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it.

“But that’s not why we’re telling it.

“We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens.”

She added: “It’s interesting. My husband has never worked in this industry before.

“For me, having worked on ‘Suits’, it’s so amazing to be around so much creative energy and to see how people work together and share their own points of view. That’s been really fun.”
