Megan Thee Stallion slammed rapper DaBaby on Twitter Saturday evening after he re-tweeted a post that joked about Tory Lanez shooting her, which prompted a back and forth.
The Cry Baby collaborators feuded on social media after Megan, 26, saw he had re-posted a fan comment that made light of the July incident — to which Tory pled ‘not guilty.’
The fan’s comment seemed to be prompted by DaBaby and Lanez’ recent collaboration on a song called SKAT, which seemingly prompted Megan to unfollow him on Instagram the day of its release.
Twitter war: Megan Thee Stallion, 26, slams rapper DaBaby after he retweeted a post mocking Tory Lanez shooting her on Saturday evening which prompted a back and forth
Retweet: ‘I guess @DaBabyDaBaby and @torylanez cool now bc they shot somebody and don’t have to do no jail time,’ a fan tweeted which DaBaby reposted
‘I guess @DaBabyDaBaby and @torylanez cool now bc they shot somebody and don’t have to do no jail time,’ a fan tweeted with laughing cry face emojis,’ which was then re-posted by DaBaby.
The tweet referenced Megan’s July shooting — to which Tory pled not guilty to felony assault charges and posted $190K bond — and DaBaby’s January incident where he was said to have punched a club promoter in the face. He was arrested on battery but was released from jail.
After getting wind of the rapper’s seeming meddling Megan tweeted: ‘Support me in private and publicly do something different…these industry men are very strange. This situation ain’t no damn ‘beef’ and I really wish people would stop down playing it like it’s some internet s**t for likes and retweets.’
She then followed up by saying ‘Justice is slow … as we’ve all seen…back to my good day,’ after insisting that the rapper would be ‘going to jail,’ previously.
Speaking out: Megan said that DaBaby was down playing the shooting and lambasted him for supporting her in ‘private’ but not ‘publicly’ after the tweet
Follow up: The WAP hitmaker then proceeded to tweet about ‘justice’ being ‘slow’ as Tory still has yet to go to jail for the July shooting
Retort: The rapper then retorted at Megan and claimed he had no ‘bad energy’ towards her
Hitting back: The WAP rapper slammed him for doing a collaboration with Tory after he had allegedly told her that promoting a song with him would be a bad business move
At this point the rapper, 29, got wind of Megan’s tweets and issued his own messages in direct response.
‘You done let these folks get the best of you thug. ion got no bad energy for ya. You know like I know I ain’t no ‘industry’ n****a , let em fool you into thinking that you trippin. Stand on what you stand on without feeling like I’m against ya. Stay focused my g,’ he wrote.
And Megan then hit back: ‘My stance hasn’t changed at all YOURS has. We already spoke abt this in private and you specifically said ‘that ain’t even no good business move why would I promote that s**t,’ but now this ain’t your ‘beef’ ? That ain’t real. But you stay on ya ‘business’ my g.”
DaBaby then said: ‘You ain’t tweeting nothing I ain’t tell dat n***a directly. I told him da same s**t lol Whoever cleared it cleared it, so what. Shit still ain’t enough of my bidness for MFs to be feelin some type of way bout my pretty chocolate a**. Gettin into dat don’t feed my ppl.’
Defensive: DaBaby then said that he had spoken to Tory about the situation which put him in the middle of their ‘beef’
Denying: He had claimed that he never retweeted it in the first place after a flurry of fan comments came in asking why he would do that
He then seemed to try and squash it all as he followed up by saying he was done with the back-and-forth and told her ‘luv u Meg.’
‘Ion even go back n forth w/ my own b***hes on the net now I’m on dis mf goin back n forth w/ another n***a woman about some s**t another n***a accused of Face with tears of joy. How tf dat work? Y’all n—as hellFace with tears of joy. Happy Juneteenth tho, we started this bitch off wit a bang didn’t it ? Luv u Meg.’
Her boyfriend Pardison Fontaine also got involved as he called him a ‘clown’ and warned him not to ‘address her again’ on twitter.
‘You a clown a** n***a doin doin clown ass shit then tryin to back pedal .. n***a that’s what it is .. u don’t ever gotta address her again.’
Protective: Her boyfriend Pardi also got involved and called DaBaby a ‘clown’ and warned him not to ‘address her again’
Before the retweet erupted in Megan responding, DaBaby had also claimed that he ‘ain’t retweet nothing’ and called the mysterious Twitter retweet some ‘illuminati s**t.’
And Megan had previously spoken out about the ability to voice her opinions after she received flack for saying people needed to ‘protect black women.’
‘If I’m going through something, I should be able to voice what I feel without it offending somebody else,’ she said on The Nadeska Show.
‘We all need somebody to have a voice that speaks for all of us because when women come together, we just get so powerful… it makes people scared. It gets them shaking.’
Shoot day: The Hot Girl Summer crooner took to Instagram to show off her body in a fashion nova set after doing a shoot
In July Megan and Tory reportedly got into an altercation that resulted in him shooting her twice in the foot which required her to undergo two procedures.
After coming clean about the incident she filed felony assault charges, and later alleged that he had offered her money to stay quiet, but he denied the incident entirely and even made a whole album claiming his innocence.
He pled not guilty to one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and got out on bail after posting $190K bond.
The DA had also alleged that he had inflicted great bodily damage to Megan, and if convicted of the charges he faces up to 22 years and 8 months.
In the fall, the Hot Girl Summer hitmaker detailed the events surrounding the night where she was shot twice in the foot after leaving a pool party in the Hollywood Hills.
Not guilty: The Canadian rapper, 28, had pled not guilty to the felony assault charges but Megan has said she will not back down til he serves time; pictured June 5
She told GQ that being shot and then having to defend her experiences publicly online was ‘the worst experience of [her] life.’
Lanez’ lawyers responded to TMZ about the buy-out claims and said he had ‘never offered money to any witness for their silence or for any other reason. Any reports to the contrary are false.’
Megan revealed that she was simply trying to go home when she got in the car with Tory Lanez, a move she was hesitant to even make as an argument was brewing and her phone had died.
When Megan attempted to get out of the vehicle, Lanez allegedly shot at her feet and wounded her twice.
‘Like, I never put my hands on nobody,’ she said while recalling the scenario in disbelief. ‘I barely even said anything to the man who shot me when I was walking away. We were literally like five minutes away from the house.’
Seeking justice: After coming clean about the incident she filed felony assault charges, and later alleged that he had offered her money to stay quiet, but he denied the incident entirely and even made a whole album claiming his innocence
Lanez reportedly begged Megan and her friend in the car not to say anything and even ‘offered’ money for them to stay quiet.
‘[At this point] I’m really scared,’ Megan said, ‘because this is like right in the middle of all the protesting. Police are just killing everybody for no reason, and I’m thinking, ‘I can’t believe you even think I want to take some money. Like, you just shot me.’
With helicopters surrounding the area and a slew of police presence, Megan told officers at the time ‘I got cut.’
People accused Megan of lying about the incident and she later named Lanez as the person who shot her in the foot, which spiraled into a he-said/she-said war online.
After back and forth she tweeted: ‘Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.’
Unbothered: The rapper has maintained his innocence but could face a maximum sentence of 22 years in prison if convicted of the assault charges
